
SPRINGFIELD — Wittenberg sophomore Alex Nemunaitis (Ottawa Hills, Ohio/Ottawa Hills) was named an NCAA Division III All-American by 64 Analytics.
Nemunaitis was one of 10 Division III student-athletes nationwide to be named a 64 Analytics All-American at third base for the 2024 season.
He was also a North Coast Athletic Conference Second Team selection this year.
Nemunaitis played in 41 games in 2024, posting a .386 batting average with 56 hits, 13 doubles, six home runs, 40 RBIs, 41 runs and one steal while recording a .925 fielding percentage. He led the team in batting average and doubles, tied for second in hits and ranked third in home runs, RBIs and runs. He ranks seventh in the NCAC in batting average and tied for 10th in doubles.
In 59 career games at Wittenberg, Nemunaitis has a .374 batting average with 58 hits, 14 doubles, six home runs, 40 RBIs and 45 runs.
The Tigers posted a 26-17 overall record this season and won a share of the NCAC regular-season championship with a 13-3 mark in league play under eighth-year head coach Brian McGee. This year marked the team's first NCAC regular-season title in program history and its first conference title since winning the Ohio Athletic Conference in 1968. The Tigers earned the top seed for the NCAC Tournament and went on to finish as the runner-up while breaking the program's all-time single-season home run record with 41.
