SPRINGFIELD — Wittenberg senior Luke Thomas (Tallmadge, Ohio/Tallmadge) was named the North Coast Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 19-25.

This marks Thomas' first career NCAC Player of the Week accolade.

He totaled 10 hits in 14 at-bats with three doubles, three RBIs, seven runs scored and two stolen bases. Defensively at second base, he recorded three putouts and 10 assists.

In Saturday's doubleheader, he was 4-for-5 with a double, RBI, three runs and a steal in a 14-10 loss and was 4-for-4 with two doubles, one walk, two RBIs, three runs and a steal in a 13-4 win.

In Wittenberg's 8-5 win on Sunday, he was 2-for-5 with one walk and one run.

Thomas now has 110 hits and 27 doubles in his career. He is 56 hits and nine doubles shy of breaking into the program's all-time top 10 in those categories.
