SPRINGFIELD, Ohio—Wittenberg baseball defeated Capital University 9-6 early on in 2017 as the team met for the second time on Tuesday night. The Tigers and Crusaders have embarked on their journey through conference play since then, as the Tigers have produced a 4-8 start in NCAC play, and Capital a 3-7 start in OAC play. Capital scored 13 runs in the first five innings on Tuesday, eventually dropping Wittenberg 14-8. The Tigers showed their resiliency during the non-conference affair, battling back late in the game before falling to the Crusaders.
