Tiger Baseball Blanked by Polar Bears in Midweek Showdown

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio—After an impressive offensive output the night before, Wittenberg's bats were silenced by the Polar Bears of Ohio Northern University. Wittenberg was only able to muster up four hits in the 10-0 loss, while the Polar Bears dropped 13 hits on the Tigers in the nine-inning affair. It took a combination of eight different Tiger pitchers to stifle ONU's offensive attack, while the Tigers could not figure out the visitor's starter for six plus innings. Wittenberg moves to 7-19 on the season with the loss.

GAME NOTES

  • Brad Malott (Middletown, Ohio/Madison) and Will Cousins (Medfield, Massachusetts/Medfield) both swiped bases for the Tigers on Wednesday, giving the team 31 on the season.
  • The Tiger pitching staff surrendered six walks, totaling seven earned runs on 13 hits in the contest, while the Tiger defense committed five errors.
