
NEW CONCORD, Ohio—Tiger baseball jumped all over the Muskies of Muskingum Tuesday night in New Concord, as the Tigers utilized a veteran pitching performance from freshman Noble Moore (Deleware, Ohio/Hayes). The freshman went 8.1 innings for the Tigers, giving the bullpen a much needed rest, lining up the Tigers for a 9-6 victory. The Tigers scratched across six runs in the first three innings in the mid-week matchup, and were able to add three more in the final three innings. The Tigers move to 7-18 in 2016, and look to a weekend series against NCAC foe Kenyon this weekend.
GAME NOTES
- The Tiger offense was led by Timmy Bates (Westerville, Ohio/South) Corey Farnbauch (Hiliard, Ohio/Davidson) and Jace Barga (Versailles, Ohio/Versailles) who both chipped in three hits, and a triple a piece.
- The Tigers exploded for 14 hits on the night, eight of which were for extra bases.
- Cal Slusarz (Chesterland, Ohio/West Geauga) and Barga recorded two doubles apiece, while Barga recorded five RBI's on the night.
KEY STATS
- Wittenberg sent 41 batters to the plate in the game, with only five being sent down on strikes.
- The Tigers left 10 runners on base, but managed to plate all but one of their nine runs on RBI's.
- Moore faced 38 batters in the game, striking out three and walking four, while scattering eight hits in his 8.1 innings pitched.
