WINTER PARK, Florida—Wittenberg baseball rebounded from a 1-0 defeat to Beloit on Monday by splitting a double-header with Trine on Tuesday. The Tigers were able to battle back late in game one, as Trine's starter gave the Tiger's offense fits through the first five frames. After trailing for most of the game, Wittenberg was able to knock out Trine's starter in the sixth inning after taking the lead 3-2. In the end, Wittenberg held on to a 4-2 come from behind victory in the game. Game 2 was highlighted by freshman Drew Elliott (Bexley, Ohio/Bexley) making his debut in a Tiger uniform. The freshman pitched into the fifth inning in his first college start, striking out five in impressive fashion. Wittenberg allowed Trine to produce nine runs between the fifth and seventh innings to eventually down the Tigers, 11-5. The double-header split moves the Tigers to 2-2 on the young season entering the team's off day.
