SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — The Wittenberg baseball team rallied from an early 3-0 deficit to defeat Ohio Northern in its 2012 home finale.

The win snapped a four-game losing streak for the Tigers, who had lost nine of their previous 10 games. Ohio Northern, which fell to 13-20 on the season, was Wittenberg's sixth different Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) opponent in 2012. The Tigers will finish with a 5-3 record against OAC foes.

The Tigers fell behind 3-0 before rallying to tie the game in the bottom of the third inning. Both teams added a run in the fourth, before Wittenberg took the lead in the sixth on a squeeze bunt by senior Tim Little (Broadview, Ill./Kenwood Academy) that brought home sophomore Brandon Jordan (Ithaca, NY/Ithaca).

Jordan finished the day 3-for-4 at the plate with two runs scored. Junior Graham Wolff (Lake Bluff, Ill./Lake Forest) added two hits and scored a run, while freshman Zac Wilson (Eaton, Ohio/Eaton) went 2-for-4 and scored a run and drove another in.

Senior Andy Sharek (Sewickley, Pa./Sewickley Academy) started and went the first five innings. He gave way to junior Zach Finke (Maineville, Ohio/St. Xavier), who tossed four outstanding innings in relief, allowing four hits and no runs while striking out four.
