WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - The Wittenberg Tigers wrapped their Florida trip with a split with Bethany Lutheran, winning their first meeting 6-4 in eight innings before dropping the back half 15-5. Sophomore Stefan Kegler (Columbus, Ohio/Thomas Worthington brought the aluminum out for the Tigers in game one, propelling Wittenberg to the win with a 3-3 day.

A two-run homer from Kegler brought the Tigers back from an early defecit, before his RBI double, third on the day, drove home the eventual winning run in the top of the eighth. Designated hitter Matt Hampp (Hilliard, Ohio/Davidson) scored and drove in a run in his multi-hit day.

Starting pitcher Bobby Ciucki (Dublin, Ohio/Coffman) went four innings, allowing five hits and four runs while taking a no decision. In relief, Darin Mumaw (Fort Loramie, Ohio/Fort Loramie) picked up the win, while shutting down Lutheran in the eighth with a pair of punchouts.

In game two, walks and errors stymied the Tigers' search for a sweep, overshadowing a brilliant afternoon from Patrick Williams (Plainfield, Ind./Plainfield), who went 2-3 with two runs scored.

With the Tigers returning to Ohio, they work with a 2-6 record with the next date on the horizon coming at Carleton-Davidson Stadium against UC-Clermont on Wednesday, March 18 at 4 p.m.
