Tigers Rout Lords to Cap Off Season

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - In the final game for a deep Wittenberg senior class, the Tigers sent off their fourth-year players in style with a pair of dominant showings in a 8-2, 21-9 doubleheader sweep of Kenyon. A number of seniors got into the act as the Tigers put the finishing touches on an 18-21 campaign.

Seniors Jacob Michael (Powell, Ohio/Olentangy Liberty)and Tim Antil (Clayton, Ohio/Northmont) shared the spotlight in Game 1. At the dish, Michael punched a pair of hits, scored and drove in one as part of a seven-run Tiger sixth inning that blew the game open. Antil, on the hill, rounded out his career with a complete game five-hitter to cement the victory.

In the second affair, it was the Steve Moran (Milford, Ohio/Milford) show, as he belted three hits while pushing five across the plate and scoring three times himself. Fellow senior Patrick Williams (Plainfield, Ind./Plainfield) added four hits and three runs in the highest run output of the season for the Tigers.

Senior pitchers Josh Fiebiger (Pletcher, Ohio/Miami East) and Chris Green (Cincinnati, Ohio/LaSalle) and senior shortstop J.T. Thompson (Clayton, Ohio/Northmont) also performed well in their final appearances in the Red & White.

Wittenberg closes out the year matching their win total from a year ago.
