Three Tiger Student-Athletes Named NCAC Athletes Of The Week

The North Coast Athletic Conference today announced their Athlete of the Week awards, and three Tiger student-athletes were honored as described in the league's weekly sports releases. Zach Finke, Baseball (Pitcher)

Zach Finke

Wittenberg senior Zach Finke (Maineville, OH/St. Xavier) propelled the Tigers to a 6-1 record at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational by posting a sterling 2-0 record in two complete-game shutout performances. Finke struck out seven and allowed just three hits to earn a 1-0 victory over WPI, and kept Union scoreless after striking out two and allowing four hits in 7.0 innings and just 54 total pitches.

Ian Streicker, Men's Tennis

Ian Streicker

Wittenberg sophomore Ian Streicker (South Lebanon, OH/Loveland) led the way for the Tigers’ 5-1 spring break in Hilton Head, South Carolina. The sophomore posted a 4-1 record at No. 1 singles and a 4-0 record with junior doubles partner Joe Marra (Great Falls, MT/Great Falls).

Kaitie Harrison, Softball (Player)

Kaitie Harrison

Wittenberg junior Kaitie Harrison (Springfield, OH/Kenton Ridge) led the Tigers to an 8-1 record, the team’s best start ever, over Spring Break at the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic with a .407 batting average and 10 RBIs. That included a walk-off single against Newbury on Wednesday, helping the Tigers right the ship after their only loss of the week.
