Tigers Take Down Little Giants In Straight Sets

Springfield, OH – The Wittenberg Tiger Men's Volleyball team earned a straight set, 3-0 (25-14, 25-12, 25-16) win over the Wabash College Little Giants. Wittenberg played nearly two clean sets to get things started, putting down 11 kills with just two errors on 19 swings in the first set. The Tigers put down another 11 kills in the second set with one error on 15 attacks in the second. Wittenberg put together their best hitting percentage through the early going, finishing the afternoon at .418. The Tigers tallied 10 service aces for the second time.

Eli Halverson posted a .692 hitting-percentage on the afternoon, putting down 10 kills on 13 swings with just one error. Halverson added four service aces and five digs to his total. Matthew Gerardi put down six kills for the Tiger attack on 11 attempts with just one error, posting a .455 hitting percentage.

Sam Richardson contributed 17 of the 29 Tiger assists, adding two kills, two digs with one ace. Andrew Diaz de Padilla added 11 assists, finishing with one block assist and one kill. Dominic Melchiorre accounted for five block assists up front with the Tiger defense. Melchiorre finished the day with four kills on nine swings, posting a .444 hitting percentage.
