Tigers Close Out 2022 Season Against MSJ & St. John Fisher

Springfield, OH – The Wittenberg Tiger men's volleyball team wrapped up their 2022 season from Pam Evans Smith Arena on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers dropped their final two matches, falling to the Lions from Mount St. Joseph University, 3-1 (25-23, 25-16, 19-25, 25-14). Wittenberg ended the day taking on the Cardinals from St. John Fisher, falling in the end 3-0 (25-19, 25-17, 25-16).

In the first match, Chris Goertz led the Tiger offense putting down 10 kills on 22 total attack attempts and just two errors, logging a .364 hitting percentage. Aaron Giorgi logged 32 of Wittenberg's 34 assists to start the day. The Tigers put together a .112 kill percentage through the four-set match against the Lions. Wittenberg put together a .364 offensive effort in the first set, outdoing the Lions in the third set with a .290 hitting clip.

Rounding out the day against the Cardinals from St. John Fisher, Wittenberg saw their highest offensive output in the first set, hitting .360. In the first set, the Tigers put down 13 kills on 25 total attempts with just four errors. Giorgi continued to facilitate the Tiger offense, finishing with 21 of the 22 assists in the final match.

The Tigers ended their season with an overall record of 11-17 and 4-4 record in MCVL play.
