Tigers Celebrate Lone Senior In Final Home Match

Springfield, OH – The Wittenberg University men's volleyball team celebrated the career of lone senior Gabriel Lamar on Wednesday evening before hosting Adrian College from Pam Evans Smith Arena. Lamar is a three-time letter winner for the men's volleyball program and helped play an integral part in the 2019 AMCC Championship season. Lamar will leave his mark on the Wittenberg Record Book, as he currently sits at second in single-season block assists (79) and third in single-season total blocks (95) both in 2019. Lamar also sits in the top three in career solo blocks, block assists and total blocks.

Match Breakdown

Wittenberg was led by Chris Goertz with eight kills, posting a .208 kill percentage. Russ Burke added four kills on the night for the Tiger offense, including four digs. The Tigers dropped the first set 25-20, putting down four kills on 25 total attacks with six errors. Wittenberg went on to fall in the following sets 25-15 and 25-15.

Wittenberg will return to action on Sunday, March 28 traveling to Trine University for their final two regular-season matches of 2021.
