Tigers Split Comets in Home Win

Springfield, OH- Wittenberg faced-off in a double header against the Comets of Olivet. In their first match of the day the Tigers were led by Russ Burke in kills with 12, followed by Gabriel Lamar with 11. Just behind the two in stats were Dominic Melchiorre and Chris Goertz with 10 kills each. Goertz also led Wittenberg in digs with 14. Wittenberg put up a fight, winning the second set 25-22 but the Comets were able to take the match with a 3-1 score.

Wittenberg was able to come back in the second match of the day and pick up a win with a clean sweep with scores of 25-22, 25-14, and 25-16. The Red and White were able to stop Olivet's powerhouse, Kai Hartman, in the second match and limited him to two kills while Burke and Lamar continued to lead the Tigers with a combined 20 kills. Burke also picked up 12 digs to keep the Tigers in play and take the game.
