Robert Hamilton was a standout in basketball, baseball and tennis at Wittenberg before graduating in 1934. He was a member of the 1.933 Buckeye Conference basketball championship team. Hamilton had a unique position of both coaching and playing on the tennis team. A longtime employee of the Springfield Newspapers, he retired as president of the News-Sun in 1978.
