SPRINGFIELD, OH. – Wittenberg's women's volleyball team picked up its second North Coast Athletic Conference victory of the season, downing visiting Kenyon in three straight sets for the 3-0 win on Saturday, Oct. 4, at Pam Evans Smith Arena, part of the Health, Wellness & Athletics Complex.
Picking up their fourth-straight win, the Tigers came out strong and were rarely threatened against the Owls, leading the stats in every category en route to the big "W" in scores of 25-16, 25-16, and 25-16.
However, the Tigers dropped a later match in the day to visiting Muskingum in a non-conference matchup, 3-0, in scores of 25-19, 25-12, and 25-14.
With the split, Wittenberg goes to 9-7 overall and 2-0 in the NCAC, while Kenyon drops to 3-14 overall and 1-1 NCAC. Muskingum improved to 12-6 on the season.
Team Leaders vs. Kenyon
- Kait Colahan (Vermilion, OH / Vermilion) led the team in kills with 13 on 22 total attacks for a hitting percentage of .545. She also led the team in points with 16.
- Piper Ricketts (Morrow, OH / Little Miami) added nine kills on 23 total attacks for 10.5 points.
- Mary Sulfridge (South Charleston, OH / Southeastern) led the team in assists with 25, and Ally White (Harrison, OH / Harrison) turned in a team-high 13 digs.
- Clare O'Malley (Avon, OH / St. Joseph's Academy) tallied seven kills and added four blocks for 10 points.

- Team totals for Wittenberg included 44 kills, 121 total attacks, 35 assists, five service aces, 9.5 total blocks, and 45 digs.
- Kenyon registered 26 kills, 106 total attacks, 21 assists, two service aces, 2.0 blocks, and 41 digs.
Team Leaders vs. Muskingum
- Colahan again led the team in kills with nine on 23 total attacks for 9.5 points.
- Sam Fincham (Springfield, OH / Kenton Ridge) added seven kills on 26 total attacks for seven points. O'Malley had seven.
- White again led the team in digs with 12, and Sulfridge had a team-high 20 assists.
Team Comparison vs. Muskingum
- Team totals for Wittenberg included 32 kills, 118 total attacks, 25 assists, and 41 digs.
- The Muskies registered 40 kills, 106 total attacks, 32 assists, two service aces, and 48 digs. They outhit Witt .321 to .085.
