DAYTON — The Wittenberg women's tennis team defeated Baldwin Wallace 8-1 on Saturday to remain unbeaten on the season.

Wittenberg began the match by taking all three doubles courts. Junior Caroline Sproule (Lewis Center, Ohio/Olentangy Orange) and freshman Kylie Wilson (Powell, Ohio/Olengtangy Liberty) won 8-4 at No. 1 doubles, the freshman duo of Sophia Pischalko (Granger, Ind./Penn) and Breanna Ball (Powell, Ohio/Olentangy) won 8-3 at No. 2 doubles, and freshmen Claire Loomis (Pittsburg, Pa./Upper St. Clair) and Lilly Hartman (Lexington, Ky./Henry Clay) won 8-0 at No. 3 doubles.
The Tigers then took five of the six singles courts.
Sproule won 4-6, 5-1, opponent retiring at No. 1 singles.
Wilson won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 singles.
Pischalko won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3 singles.
Loomis won 6-2, 6-4 at No. 4 singles.
Hartman won 6-4, 6-2 at No. 5 singles.
Hartings fell 4-6, 0-6 at No. 6 singles.

"I was really impressed with our girls today. I can't really ask for more in terms of effort and intensity. We have some tougher matches coming up, so it will be interesting to see how we hold up moving forward. I'm proud of this group."
