Women's Swim & Dive Defeats Hiram

Hiram, OH—Swim and dive opened up their season at Hiram College for a dual meet with the Terriers. The team achieved 15 first place finishes. Many Tigers competed in their first ever collegiate meet Saturday while others also returned to the pool for the first time in a few years. Freshmen diver Abby McDonald finished second. The 200-meter freestyle relay team finished first in a time of 2:00.62. Mackenzie Schuld finished first in the 100 fly and 400 free. Addy Payne finished first in the 800 free and 50 fly. Shania Stone was first in the 100 and 200 freestyle. McKenna Clark finished first in the 50 and 100 backstroke. Sophie Paskiet was first in the 50 breast and 200 IM. Rebekah Lebold was first in the 1M dive. The women's team found success with multiple personal bests, first and second place finishes proving to be the difference as they defeated Hiram 131 to 113.

The men's team fell to Hiram 69 to 187. Zach Parkman finished first in the 800-meter free, 100 fly, and 400 free. The 200-meter freestyle relay team finished second in a time of 1:43.93. Mason Steen was second in the 50 breast and 100 free. Jon Wasky was second in the 100 back.

UP NEXT: The Tigers return to the pool next Saturday, October 28th for a double home dual meet with Transylvania University and Wilmington College.
