Wittenberg Tops Case Western On Senior Recognition Day

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - Finishing strong in their final tune up before the North Coast Athletic Conference championship meet Feb. 8-10, the Wittenberg Tigers came up with a pair of dual meet victories against in-state rival Case Western University on Senior Recognition Day. On the men's side the Tigers won 135-102, while the women also came up victorious, defeating the Spartans 132-81.

Junior Brian Harris (Harrisonburg, Va./Harrisonburg) was a difference-maker for the Tiger men as he helped the 200 yard medley relay team to a first-place finish. Individually, he placed first in the 100 and 50 free events. Other winners on the men's side were freshman Neil Anderson (Lakewood, Ohio/Lakewood) in the 1000 and 500 free, sophomore Ryan Hamilton (Mount Vernon, Ohio/Charisland Academy) in the 200 free and senior Cody Nicely (Knoxville, Tenn./Bearden) in the 1- and 3-meter diving events.

On the women's side, senior Jen Mulligan (Cheyney, Pa./Delaware Valley Friends) was a standout as she also helped the Tiger women to a win in the 200 medley relay. Individually. Mulligan added a first-place finish in the 100 back. Other winners for the women were senior Katie Spittler (Carlisle, Ky./Lexington Catholic) in the 1000 free, junior Lindsay Smith (Mount Vernon, Ohio/Mount Vernon) in the 50 and 100 free, freshman Adeline Brym (Mansfield, Ohio/Lexington) in the 200 and 500 free and junior Courtney Roth (Gurnee, Ill./Lake Forest) in the 1-meter diving.

The Tigers next compete in the NCAC Championships at C.T. Branin Natatorium in Canton, Ohio.
