Springfield, OH – The Wittenberg Women's Soccer team host the Polar Bears of Ohio Northern University in the 2022 season opener on Thursday evening from Edwards-Maurer Field. The Tigers suffered a 2-0 loss to start the season in what was the 23rd meeting between the two programs. Witt held a 13-7-2 advantage in the series heading into the contest. The Tigers put together a 1-1 draw a year ago on the road in the season opener. Wittenberg would go on to complete an NCAC Tournament Championship run, earning a place in the NCAA Division III Tournament with an overall record of 10-9-1.
- Junior goalkeeper Badin Clark made five saves against 15 shots with seven ONU shots being on frame.
- The Wittenberg defense combined for a clean sheet in the second half, surpassing the ONU attack in the middle third of the field.
Wittenberg will return to action on Saturday, September 3 at 1PM hosting the Student Princesses of Heidelberg University from Edwards-Maurer Field.
