Tigers Defeated In Overtime

Springfield, OH- Tigers faced a fast-paced Capital team at Edwards-Maurer Field on Sunday afternoon. Wittenberg was met with physical play early in the game with a yellow card being issued to Capital in the first ten minutes of the action. Capital was able to get shots off in the first half but Wittenberg's Kelly Corbin protected the net on close calls with Capital breakaways. The teams went into the half tied at 0-0.

Capital was able to get the first goal of the game at 53:27. Capital's Allyssa Kimbler was able to score off of a penalty kick for the Crusaders. The Tigers were able to come back at 61:35 after Taylor Adams ran the ball upfield allowing Alix Steele to push it past the Capital keeper.

The Tigers and Crusaders went into overtime with knotted up at 1-1 with sixteen saves being made by Kelly Corbin for the Tigers. Capital's Jordan Fike was able to end overtime at 94:17 when she scored unassisted.

Up Next- Women's Soccer will be back on Edwards-Maurer Field Saturday, September 21 against Wilmington. The Tigers will be honoring Kelly Corbin and Emma Thacker during their Senior Day.
