Double-Double For Simpson in Win over Wooster

Springfield, OH- Wittenberg hosted the College of Wooster in their ninth conference match-up of the season. The last time the Tigers saw Wooster it was on the Fighting Scots home turf but the Red & White pulled off a 99-65 defeat. Wittenberg was able to pull of another win over Wooster with a final score of 52-44.

The Tigers shot 29.5% from the field and 69.6% from the line going 16-23. Wittenberg was able to put 52 points on the board being led by Jade Simpson with 12 points and 13 rebounds followed by Molly Scott with nine points.

Wittenberg was able to tally 16 points in the first quarter, outscoring the Fighting Scots by nine. Adding nine more to their total, the Red & White went into the locker room with a 25-13 lead. At the half the Tigers were being led by Jade Simpson with 10 points and nine rebounds, just one rebound shy of a first half double-double. Simpson would get her double-double at the start of the third quarter and the Tigers would go on to add 12 points to the board. Wittenberg put up 15 points in the final quarter for a 52-44 defeat over the Fighting Scots for the second time this season.

Wittenberg adds their eighth conference win to their season record and improve to a 15-4 overall record. Their improved record puts them tied at number one in the NCAC with DePauw.
