Tigers Battle Top Teams At Rose-Hulman Pre-Regional Meet

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Wittenberg cross country teams met the Great Lakes' best NCAA Division III competition on Saturday, running at the Great Lakes Regional Pre-Meet at Rose-Hulman. The women finished seventh of 15 teams, while the men turned in a 10th-place finish among 14 teams.

In the Pre-Meet, designed to familiarize competitors with the course to be run at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Meet on Saturday, Nov. 14, the women turned in four top-50 finishes among a field of more than 170 runners. Leading the pack in 13th place with a time of 23:49 was sophomore Anna Henry (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Kenston), followed in 32nd by freshman Biz Goodbarn (Highlands Ranch, Colo./Highlands Ranch) and sophomore Darcy Dubuc (Grand Haven, Mich./Grand Haven) just behind in 33rd place. Freshman Amy Stamon (Louisville, Ky./Assumption) rounded out the Tigers' top-50 finishers in 49th place.

The Tiger men's leading man, junior Kevin Frick (Columbus, Ohio/Grandview), matched Henry with a 13th place finish with a time of 26:39. He was joined in the top 100 by three other Tigers, namely freshman Trevor Grandy (Dublin, Ohio/Coffman) in 72nd, sophomore Jarrett Cowgill (Worthington, Ohio/Thomas Worthington) in 94th and junior Andrew Carter (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro) in 96th.

The Tiger teams return to action on Friday, Oct. 16, when they travel to Wilmington for the Wilmington Invitational.
