Tigers Fight Second Half Comeback

Springfield, OH- Wittenberg returned home to compete against the Battling Bishops of Ohio Wesleyan in their second conference match-up of the season. Wittenberg was able to battle it out in the second half, leading in saves and faceoffs the entire game but fell with a score of 12-9.

Highlights- Scoring for Wittenberg were Kyle Gould, Nathan Brown (2), Dillon McKeigue (3), Colten Simkins, Nicholas Langenderfer, and Blake Roller. McKeigue led the Tigers in scoring, his hat-trick in the fourth quarter. Wittenberg was able to dominate in the second half, outscoring the Battling Bishops in the third four goals to two and adding four more in the fourth. Despite the second half effort, the Tigers fell with a 12-9 score.

Splitting time in goal for the Tigers were Chase Singleton and Will Westermeyer. The pair saw 23 shots and tallied 11 saves on the day. Defensively, Wittenberg picked up 30 ground balls, just short of OWU by one, being led by Colten Simkins with nine on the day.
