Killens Career-High Leads Tigers Past Big Red

Springfield, OH – The Wittenberg Tiger Men's Basketball team returned to Pam Evans Smith Arena, getting back in the win column, defeating the Big Red from Denison University, 63-55. Wittenberg withstood a late Denison push, after holding a 34-22 lead at the break.

Trey Killens had a career-high, posting 31 points on the afternoon. Killens took 17 points into the break at the half. He finished the day converting on 9 of 20 from the floor, with two three-pointers. The sophomore out of Cincinnati secured the ninth win of the season for the Tigers, knocking down 11 of 13 from the foul line down the stretch.

Brice Hill was the second Tiger to tally double figures on the day. Hill added 10 points, dishing out five assists, coming up with two rebounds.

Daniel Asher recorded his first double-digit rebounding game of the season, grabbing 10 boards for the Tigers. Asher added six points with one blocked shot.

Wittenberg converted on 39 percent from the floor on the day. The Tiger defense held the Big Red to just 9 of 29 from the floor through the opening 20-minutes. Wittenberg led the Big Red wire-to-wire, splitting the season series.
