Women’s Soccer Wins Overtime Battle

Springfield, OH- The Wittenberg Tigers met the Big Red of Denison for a rainy homecoming game on Edwards-Maurer Field. The 5-6-2 Tigers matched the 7-4-4 Big Red in the midfield to start the game with neither team controlling possession of the ball. Wittenberg held Denison until 28:36 when the Big Red were able to bring the score to 1-0. Wittenberg led the first half in shots and shots on goal but were unable to capitalize on them and went into the half down.

Wittenberg started to get some momentum after a goal from Emily Wile at 54:37 off of a penalty kick. Both teams continued to battle in the rain with no luck in regulation and the game would go into overtime. Wittenberg's, Wile was able to score again and end overtime with an assist from Maria Miller.

Up Next: The Tigers will be back Tuesday, October 29th as they take on Ohio Wesleyan on the road at 7 PM.
