Tigers Fill Leaderboard At Western Pennsylvania Intercollegiate

Allegheny, PA – The Wittenberg Tiger Men's golf team competed at the Western Pennsylvania Intercollegiate from the Allegheny Country Club, playing the 6400-yard par 70 course.

The nationally ranked No. 8 Tiger men's squad secured a second-place finish, with a two-day score of 581 (+21), trailing only No. 4 Washington & Jefferson. The Wittenberg (B) team would best NCAC foe Denison University by 20 strokes, earning a third-place finish with a score of 586 (+26).

Wittenberg had all five competitors from their second-place team finish in the top 20. The Tigers added four of five from their second competing team inside the top 20.

William McDavid earned his first collegiate win with a T-1, carding a 36-hole score of 141 (+1), posting rounds of 66-75.

Coming off a win at the DIII showcase and NCAC Athlete of the week honors, J.F. Aber tallied his third top five finish in a row. Aber finished T-3, posting rounds of 72-71 for a 36-hole score of 143 (+3).

Nicklaus Pidgeon was the second Tiger to crack the top five, finishing T-5 with a score of 145 (+5). Pidgeon posted rounds of 72-73.

Matthew Mattioli secured a T-9 finish, with rounds of 72-75, posting a 147 (+7) through 36 holes.

Evan DiSanto and Will Birkholz rounded out the Tigers finishing in the top 15. DiSanto secured a T-11 finish carding rounds of 72-76 for a 36-hole score of 148 (+8). Birkholz added a T-14 finish with rounds of 75-74, finishing the two days at 149 (+9).

Mark Sulek added a T-11 finish, posting rounds of 80 and 68. Ryan Miller and Josh Wright each came in at T-16 at (+10).
