Hiram, Ohio - A 15-3 run midway through the first half started the Wittenberg Tigers toward their biggest margin of victory of the season, an 80-51 route of the host Hiram Terriers.

The win moved Wittenberg to 12-5 overall and 6-2 in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC). Combined with a Denison loss to DePauw, the Tigers moved back into a tie for first place in the NCAC standings, one game ahead of a trio of teams as the league schedule hits the halfway point. Hiram fell to 2-15 overall and 0-8 in the NCAC.

Unlike many other games this year, the key for the Tigers was tremendous balance as five players reached double figures in scoring. For the first time all season, one of those double-figure scorers wasn't Trey Killens (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mason) as the junior guard finished with a season-low seven points to go along with three assists and three rebounds in 24 efficient minutes on the floor.

His teammates more than had Killens' back on this night. Cameron Harrison (Eaton, Ohio/National Trail) led the Tigers with 14 points, followed by Dawson Scott (New Castle, Indiana/New Castle) with 13 points, and a pair of players with 11 points in Daniel Asher (Indianapolis, Indiana/Roncalli) and Jeff Queen (Cincinnati, Ohio/LaSalle). Also of note was the play of Eddie Brown (Lewis Center, Ohio/Olentangy Orange), who stuffed the stats sheet with four points, four rebounds, four assists, and three blocked shots.

Wittenberg shot a season-best 55 percent from the field in the game, compared to just 36.8 percent for the Terriers. The Tigers were especially hot from long distance, hitting 9-of-14 from three-point range for a season-best 64.3 percent.
