Bio
From Hall of Honor press release dated July 12, 2024:
Ben Helm is one of the best all-around players in the history of Wittenberg’s men’s soccer program. Primarily deployed as a defensive midfielder to supplement the Tigers’ defense and provide an important connection in transition to the forwards, Helm played a key role on some of the most successful teams in program history. Wittenberg compiled a four-year record of 51-20-5 during Helm’s collegiate career and finished in the top half of the rugged NCAC each season. The Tigers advanced to the NCAA Division III Tournament in 1991 and 1992, losing a pair of one-goal decisions in the opening round. Helm earned three All-NCAC awards, including a pair of first-team nods in 1991 and 1992, three all-region awards, and three All-Ohio awards. In 1992, Helm led the Tigers with eight assists, which continues to rank among the top 10 in program history. A native of Eugene, Oregon, Helm currently resides in Orange County, California.
