Linda King distinguished herself as a top all-around athlete, playing field hockey, volleyball, basketball, softball and lacrosse. She served as captain of the basketball team in 1971. King is a pioneer of sorts, playing her sports in a time when women's intercollegiate athletic program was in its infancy, and still transitioning from the "Play Days" era. King is now a faculty member at Milligan College in Tennessee wher she also coaches softball and volleyball and has over 300 career victories to her credit. She has been voted District Coach of the Year five times.
