Records are sketchy from the early part of the century, yet some facts are clear. The late Harvey Miller had the distinction of serving as captain of Wittenberg's very first football team in 1892. He had the responsibility of being a team leader, organizer, travel agent, and even coach. He was instrumental in the Tigers' 6-0 victory over Ohio State in 1894. He later became managing editor of the Springfield Sun.
