Eugene Urbanski graduated from Wittenberg in 1957 after a successful football and a baseball career. He was halfback and safety for the Tigers of Coach Bill Edwards. The four-year letterman was a three-time first-team all Ohio Conference pick and was MVP and captain of the football squad his senior season. Urbanski played center field for the baseball team and won three letters while the Tigers won two conference baseball titles.

Urbanski earned a master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh and coached football and baseball at Pennsylvania high schools. He coached football at Glassport, Monongahela and Brrel High Schools and baseball at Glassport and Monongahela. He was voted Monessen Elks "Coach of the Year." Urbanski was a scout for the St. Louis Cardinals from 1964 to 1970 and is currently president of the Oldtimer's Athletic Association of Central Pennsylvania. Urbanski has also been inducted into the Glassport Athletic Hall of Fame.
