Senior Day Success On Edwards-Maurer Field

Springfield, OH- Wittenberg returned home on Edwards-Maurer Field to celebrate their four seniors in their senior day against the Allegheny Gators. The class of 2022 include midfielder Lilye Morrison who will graduate with a degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, captain Allison Ormsby who will graduate with a degree in nursing, captain Sofi Hess who will graduate with a degree in Exercise Science, and forward Ryleigh Bavineau who will graduate with a degree in Business. Wittenberg was able to have a successful senior day with a 1-0 win, defeating the Gators for the fourth time in the program's history with a record of 4-1.

The Tigers scored their lone goal in the first quarter from senior Allison Ormsby unassisted before going deadlocked with the Gators for the next three quarters. During those quarters, Wittenberg was able to draw two penalty corners and three shots on goal with attempts from Lilye Morrison, Ormsby, and Caroline Ford. In goal for the Red & White was junior Emma Hurguy with two saves on the day adding to her total of 83 saves on the season.

Wittenberg currently stands at number five in the conference with 3 wins and 3 losses in conference play and an 9-7 overall record.

NCAC Stats Leaders- Allison Ormsby is currently tied number two in the NCAC for goals on the season with ten and tied for number two in the NCAC for points with 22 this season. Right behind Ormsby in tied in sixth is Regan Mazzulli with seven goals. Mazzulli is also in the top ten for points this season, at number six with 16. Katie Webber sits just outside the top ten in goals with four on the season and for points with 11. Caroline Ford is tied at number four in the conference for assists with four on the season. Behind Ford in assists is Webber tied at number ten with three.

On the defensive side, Shannon Csordos is tied at number seven in the NCAC for defensive saves while Emma Hurguy currently ranks number two in NCAC goalie leaders for saves with 83 and number three for saves per game averaging 5.53 and a .806 save percentage per game (number five for save percentage).

NCAA Stats Leaders- Emma Hurguy currently stands at number eighteen in Division III for save percentage with the NCAC being represented in the top twenty by four universities.

The Tigers will return home on October 27th at 12PM for their final home game of the regular season against Denison.
