Memphis, Tenn. – The Wittenberg field hockey team rounded out their trip down south with a battle against Sewanee University in a neutral site showdown from Rhodes College. Wittenberg fell to Sewanee 3-0 in their second day of action.

Game Breakdown

Wittenberg held Sewanee scoreless through the first half, Allie Purvis made two saves against five Sewanee first-half shots. At the opposite end of the field, the Tigers recorded three shots through the first 35 minutes. Sewanee scored back-to-back goals to go 2-0  in the 47^th minute, adding a final goal in the 62^nd.

Key Stats

The Tigers had eight penalty corners on the afternoon. Wittenberg would finish the day with five shots on the Sewanee goal, four attempts by Megan Niswonger.
