Field Hockey Blanks Oberlin 2-0 in NCAC Win

OBERLIN, Ohio—Wittenberg field hockey got back to .500 on the year with a 2-0 win over Oberlin on Sunday. The Tigers are now 8-8 in 2016 and 6-6 in NCAC play. The Tigers wer3 blanked in the first half of Sunday's NCAC battle, but Blaine Donnelly and Riley Trexler each recorded a goal early in the second half to put the game out of reach. Maddie Goelz recorded the Tigers lone assist on Donnelly's goal, while Trexler's goal was unassisted.

 MATCH NOTES
  • Donnelly recorded her ninth goal of 2016 in the shutout, as Goelz picked up her third assist of the season on the scoring play.
  • Trexler picked up her 15th goal of 2016, as the junior from Louisville, Kentucky has been a scoring machine for the Tigers all season long.
  • Allie Purvis recorded two saves in net for the Tigers on Sunday, logging 35 minutes in net.
  • As a team, the Tigers outshout the Yeowomen 30-13, producing 17 shots in the first half, and 13 in the second.
