The Wittenberg University field hockey team saw its 2018 season come to a close on Wednesday (10/31) afternoon in the semifinal round of the NCAC Tournament with a 3-0 loss at top-seeded Denison.
The Wittenberg field hockey squad played strong defensively for 70 minutes of action, but it wasn’t enough as visiting Denison escaped Edwards-Maurer Field with a 1-0 victory over the Tigers on Wednesday afternoon.
On Saturday morning, the Tigers hit the road to take on the Yeowomen of Oberlin College. The Tigers came out firing, securing a 4-0 and taking Wittenberg to 2-3 on the season and 2-0 in NCAC action.
Junior midfielder Kayla Cull beat her defender and fired in an unassisted goal in the 65th minute to break a 2-2 tie and lift the Wittenberg field hockey team to a 3-2 victory over Earlham in the NCAC opener for both squads on Wednesday night at Edwards-Maurer Field.
