Tigers Fall To Wooster 3-2

Wooster, Ohio – The Wittenberg field hockey team would split their first NCAC road weekend with a 3-2 loss to the Scots of Wooster. After playing for 13 minutes knotted up at 1-1, the Tigers went into the break trailing 2-1.

Game Breakdown

Wooster would post the first goal of the game in the 9th minute of the game. Alex Reed would respond with the unassisted goal about ten minutes later, bringing the game back to 1-1. Wooster would return firer with a goal just before the intermission and once again coming out of the break. Wittenberg would score their final goal of the game in the 64th minute, when Sofi Hess found Megan Niswonger on the penalty corner 

By The Numbers

Wittenberg kept up with Wooster in getting the shots in, while the Scots led 19-17. The Tiger goalie Allie Purvis made eight saves against 11 shots on goal.

Wittenberg will be making their way back to Edwards-Maurer Field to take on the Ladies of Kenyon College on Sunday, Sept. 23 at 12:00 PM.
