Wittenberg University Volleyball Earns 11th Team Academic AwardJuly 25, 2011Wittenberg University's volleyball team was one of a record 481 high school and college programs to earn a 2010-11 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award. The award, initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, annually honors men's and women's college and high school teams that display excellence in the classroom by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale during the school year.

Beth Hemminger Selected As New Women's Lacrosse Head CoachJuly 21, 2011Wittenberg Director of Athletics and Recreation Garnett Purnell has announced the hiring of Beth Hemminger as the university's new women's lacrosse head coach. Hemminger replaces Nichole Johnson, who resigned in May and has since accepted the same position at Savannah College of Art & Design.

Men's Soccer Team Hosts England Training Trip Fund-raiser Golf Outing June 3April 19, 2011As the Wittenberg men's soccer team puts the finishing touches on the spring "non-traditional" portion of its annual schedule, Head Coach Steve Dawson is already preparing for a summer training trip to his native England. The first step is raising money for trip, which is scheduled Aug. 5-15. To offset some of the costs, the team is hosting a fund-raiser golf outing on Friday, June 3.
