Julien Lazarus is the most decorated men's swimmer in Wittenberg history. The 1997 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Male Swimmer of the Year, Lazarus won conference championships in the 100-yard breaststroke four straight years and the 200-yard breaststroke three years in a row, and he held the NCAC record in the 200-yard breaststroke for nearly a decade. Nationally, Lazarus earned a program-best 11 All-America honors. He placed second nationally in both breaststroke events at the 1998 NCAA Division III Championship meet, the best finish ever for a Wittenberg swimmer – male or female. In addition, Lazarus continues to hold three school records. A native of Moens, France, Lazarus currently resides in Gland, Switzerland.
