all of NCAA Division III in the 100-yard breaststroke, Gustafson
earned a spot in the 2014 NCAA Division III Championship meet March
19-22 at IUPUI Natatorium in Indianapolis, Ind. The national meet
appearance will be Gustafson’s third in four collegiate
seasons. She claimed All-America honors in 2011 in the 100-yard
breaststroke, and she repeated the feat in 2012 as a member of the
200-yard medley relay team. Gustafson earned a pair of All-North

|
Victor Banjo
Men's Track & Field (2/4/14): Victor

Tiger football and track & field teams in his three years at
Wittenberg. He has earned varsity letters following each of the
last three football seasons, including the 2013 campaign in which
he was a starting cornerback and responsible for four blocked kicks
on special teams. But he has enjoyed his greatest success on the
track as a sprinter, earning All-America honors in 2012 in the
60-meter dash during the indoor season and the 100-meter dash in
the outdoor season. After struggling with injuries a year ago,
Banjo has burst back onto the national track scene in 2014, posting
one of the top times in the nation in the 60-meter dash and
breaking the school record in the 200-meter dash. He is a favorite

program history, topping the school record of 17.0 held by Pam
Evans and Stephanie Boardman. Rice has reached double figures in
scoring in 13 of the team’s first 14 games, highlighted by a
36-point performance in a 90-45 victory over Wooster on Jan. 11.

various individual and relay swimming events before agreeing to
fill in as a diver for the second half of his inaugural collegiate
season. According to diving coach Jim Smith, Yoder has made
“the fastest progression on the diving boards we’ve
seen at Wittenberg.” In just two weeks of practice, Yoder
learned enough dives to score points in the one-meter event and
even took first place in a dual meet against Hiram on Jan. 11. Head
Coach Natalie Koukis said, “He prioritized the team’s
needs over his own. He has shown an excellent attitude.” |
|
Kiley McCollough
Women's Basketball (1/17/14): Senior guard
Kiley McCollough inspired her teammates in a most unique way. After
struggles with illness and injury had limited her to just four
varsity games in her first three collegiate seasons, McCollough
learned that her troublesome knee was going to require yet another
surgery, this time ensuring the end of her basketball career. With
surgery scheduled, McCollough had one final opportunity to take the
court – for the first time ever in a varsity game at Pam
Evans Smith Arena – against Case Western on Dec. 28. It
turned out to be a fitting finale for McCollough, who contributed
eight points, three assists and four rebounds in 18 quality
minutes. |

competition in the first half of the 2013-14 season, Allen capped
her fall campaign with a first-place finish in the 1-meter diving
event and second place in the 3-meter at the Transylvania
Invitational. Her performance in the 1-meter diving event was good

diving. |

collegiate career that included all-conference and all-region
awards each of the last two years and 2012 NCAC Tournament MVP
honors. Behling ranked second on the team in 2013 with 339 kills

women’s soccer team is off to a deceptively strong 2-3-1
start to the 2013 season, with all three losses and both victories
coming by a one goal margin through Sept. 13. With every game
proving to be a dogfight, first-year Head Coach Matt Fannon has
really leaned on his defense to both keep opponents out of the
Tigers’ net and to push forward in support of
Wittenberg’s offense. Sophomore Zoe Curry has started all six
games for the Tigers, playing stout defense and scoring the
equalizing goal in a 1-1 tie against Wilmington. |
|
Meghan Vodopich
Volleyball (9/13/13): As the 10th-ranked

Muskingum, and he added the team’s lone score against Thomas
More. His fourth, and most recent, goal came against Marietta in
