In 2006, Wittenberg University's Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) initiated a program to recognize the accomplishments of their peers. SAAC members vote during their regularly scheduled meeting to select one male and one female student-athlete who has turned in a noteworthy performance that should be celebrated.

	Jim Ferris Men's Lacrosse (4/16/12): Senior Jim Ferris has led the Wittenberg men’s lacrosse team’s offense in 2012, checking in with 16 goals and a team-leading 15 assists through the first 11 games (through April 16). Ferris totaled 21 points in his first three years in the Red & White, but he already has a team-best 31 points in 2012 with three regular season games remaining. He finished with either a goal or an assist (or both) in the first 10 games of the 2012 season, including a career-best five points achieved twice – with two goals and three assists in a 9-3 win over DeSales on March 7, and with four goals and one assist in a 16-10 win over Washington & Jefferson on March 21.
	Jessica Snyder Softball (4/16/12): A fixture in the Tiger softball team’s line-up for four straight years, it appears that senior shortstop Jessica Snyder has saved her very best for last. The team’s starter at the key spot in the middle of the diamond in all 32 games in 2012 (through April 16), Snyder leads the Tigers with a .372 batting average. She has batted leadoff in all 32 games, leading the team with 42 hits and 29 runs scored, as well as a .413 on-base percentage. The Tigers stand 22-10 overall and 7-3 in the NCAC, good for a first-place tie with Allegheny.
	Sergio Fishkin Men's Tennis (4/16/12): Junior Sergio Fishkin has been rock-solid for the Tiger men’s tennis team, turning in a stellar 13-5 overall singles record. More impressively, Fishkin in 10-1 at the No. 5 singles spot for the Tigers, who have compiled records of 15-6 overall and 2-2 in the challenging NCAC West Division (through April 16). Fishkin also has been solid in doubles, posting a 14-9 overall record. Playing with freshman Sasha Topolyanskiy, Fishkin is 10-5 overall in doubles, including a 10-4 mark at the No. 1 position in dual matches.
	Kellen Morrissey Women's Lacrosse (4/16/12): Junior Kellen Morrissey is the tenacious heart of the Tiger women’s lacrosse team, stuffing the stats sheet each game with her fast-paced, high-energy performance. Morrissey ranks second on the team in all three offensive categories, checking in with 19 goals, seven assists and 26 total points for the Tigers, who are 7-4 overall and 3-0 in the NCAC (through April 16). Morrissey leads the team with 31 ground balls and 22 caused turnovers, and she ranks second with 30 draw controls. She ranks second in the NCAC in ground balls, ninth in draw controls and second in caused turnovers.
	Katie Bondy Women's Lacrosse (3/30/12): Junior Katie Bondy has done some fine work in her first season as the primary starter in goal for the Wittenberg women’s lacrosse team, which is off to a 3-3 start to the 2012 season (through March 30), despite a challenging non-conference schedule. Bondy has appeared in all six games, starting five, and she recorded 40 saves and a goals against average of 10.44 in nearly 300 minutes of action. In her first two seasons in the Red & White, Bondy appeared in 12 games as a reserve, recording 46 saves in 330 minutes of game action.
	Spencer Baker Men's Lacrosse (3/30/12): Senior goalkeeper Spencer Baker has made the most of his first season as the team’s full-time starter, leading the Tigers to a 5-2 record (through March 30). He has made 83 saves while facing 218 shots through the first seven games of the campaign, yielding a goals against average of 8.43 in nearly 430 minutes of game action. Baker also ranks among the team leaders in ground balls with 14. Coming into the season, Baker had appeared in 16 games, starting 10, while primarily backing up 2011 NCAC Player of the Year Mark DeOliveira.
	Kaitie Harrison Softball (3/30/12): Sophomore Kaitie Harrison has been a key player for the Tiger softball team, which is off to its best start since 2008 at 15-7 (through March 30). Harrison has been extremely versatile defensively, seeing action in the outfield and at both first and third base in 2012. Her bat continues to provide a punch as well, highlighted by a two-home run game against Ohio Athletic Conference powerhouse John Carroll in the Tigers’ home opener on March 17. She went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and four RBIs in that game as Wittenberg picked up a badly needed doubleheader split.
	Ben Smith Men's Golf (3/30/12): Senior Ben Smith kicked off his final semester of collegiate competition in style with a medalist performance at The Members Invitational, hosted by Wittenberg at The Golf Club at Indigo Run in Hilton Head, SC on March 8. Smith took first place in the 28-player field with a two-under-par 70 on the par-72, 6,651-yard course. He won the one-day event by a resounding three strokes even after bogeying the final two holes, shortly after posting an eagle 2 on the par-4 15th hole. Six Tigers broke 80 on the day, showing the team’s tremendous depth.
	Megan Tassone Women's Swimming and Diving (2/28/12): Senior Megan Tassone capped a stellar career in the Red & White with an outstanding performance at the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) championship meet Feb. 16-18 in Canton, Ohio. She took sixth place in both the 100-yard and 200-yard breaststroke events, scoring big points for the Tigers, who finished fifth in the loaded nine-team field. Her time in the 100-yard breaststroke prelim was good for an NCAA Division III provisional qualifying standard (B Cut).
	Enri Small Women's Basketball (2/28/12): Freshman Enri Small made quite an impact in her first season in the Red & White. She started 17 of the team's 26 games and finished second on the team in scoring at 10.4 points per game. She also ranked among the team leaders in steals (33), assists (29) and rebounds (4.3 per game) as the Tigers finished 14-12 overall and 9-7 in the North Coast Athletic Conference in 2011-12. The season ended on a positive note as the Tigers won two of their last three NCAC regular season games — including a 23-point, seven-rebound performance from Small against Ohio Wesleyan on Feb. 18 — and then defeated Allegheny in the NCAC Tournament quarterfinals. The season ended with a loss to fourth-ranked DePauw in the NCAC Tournament semifinals.
	Ted Hutchinson Men's Swimming and Diving (2/28/12): Senior Ted Hutchinson rounded out a solid career for the Tigers with a strong performance at the 2012 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) championship meet Feb. 16-18 in Canton, Ohio. Described as a "quiet team leader" by coaches and teammates, Hutchinson provided quality depth and one of top point totals at the conference meet through the last four years. The team's "Unsung Hero" award-winner in 2011 and a SAAC representative in 2011-12, Hutchinson scored points in a variety of events and relays as the Tigers finished 6-4-1 in dual meets and placed seventh in a loaded 10-team field at the conference meet.
	Alex Brandt Men's Basketball (2/28/12): Senior Alex Brandt earned his second straight honorable mention All-North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) award following the 2011-12 regular season after averaging 7.9 points and 4.6 rebounds per game and leading the Tigers with a .576 shooting percentage from the field. He started 24 of the team’s 27 games during the regular season, and he was one of seven seniors who played a key role in guiding the Tigers to their first NCAC regular season title since 2004. Wittenberg, which advanced to the NCAA Division III Tournament for a second consecutive year, finished the regular season 21-6 overall, the squad's third straight 20-win season.
	Sarah Watson Women's Basketball (1/23/12): Senior Sarah Watson has shown tremendous leadership for the youthful Wittenberg women's basketball team, which stands 8-7 overall and 4-3 in the North Coast Athletic Conference through Jan. 23. Watson leads the team in scoring at 12.1 points per game and rebounding at 6.9 boards per contest, both of which rank in the top 10 in the conference as well. Despite an ankle injury that finally forced her to miss a game at Wooster on Jan. 21, Watson also tops the squad in blocked shots (10) and ranks second in assists (25). After earning Charles B. Zimmerman Memorial Classic MVP honors in December, Watson finished with 14 points and eight rebounds in a win over defending conference champion Denison on Jan. 14 to earn NCAC Player of the Week honors.
	Victor Banjo Men's Track and Field (1/23/12): After a fine debut with the Tiger football team in the fall as a special teams dynamo, sophomore Victor Banjo has turned his attention to the track and immediately found success. In his second meet in the Red & White, Banjo won the 60-meter dash at the Otterbein Invitational in a time of 6.98 seconds. He followed that with a second-place finish in the 200-meter dash in a time of 23.08. His time in the 60-meter dash ranks among the top 16 in all of NCAA Division III in the early going of the 2012 indoor season.
	Clayton Black Men's Basketball (1/23/12): Senior Clayton Black has picked up right where he left off in a breakout 2010-11 season that ended with first-team All-North Coast Athletic Conference and second-team All-Great Lakes Region honors. He is scoring 15.1 points and 7.1 rebounds per game - both tops on the team by a wide margin. He is shooting 56 percent from the field and 77 percent from the free throw line to rank among the best in the conference, and his 15 blocked shots also lead the team. Black has led the Tigers, ranked nationally for most of the season, to records of 13-4 overall and 7-1 in the NCAC, highlighted by his second straight Charles B. Zimmerman Memorial Classic MVP award in December and his 38-point outburst at Kenyon on Jan. 11 that earned his NCAC Player of the Week honors.
	Anna Henry Women's Track and Field (1/23/12): Senior Anna Henry concluded an outstanding cross country career with finishes of 28th in the North Coast Athletic Conference championship meet and 79th in the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional championship meet in November, both third-best amongst Tiger runners. She turned her attention to the indoor track recently, and the initial results were certainly encouraging with a time of 18:46 in the 5000-meter run at the Otterbein Invitational. Henry was the top collegiate finisher in a race that included several unattached runners.
	Scott Masin Men's Basketball (12/14/11): Sophomore forward Scott Masin got off to a strong start to the 2011-12 season, leading the Tigers in rebounding three of the first four games, including a double-double performance in a win over Capital on Nov. 22 (13 points, 10 rebounds). Masin's previous career-highs were 11 points and four rebounds. Through Dec. 14, the Tigers had records of 4-2 overall and 3-0 in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) and Masin was contributing 7.0 points and a team-best 5.8 rebounds per game.
	Lyndsey Clark Women's Basketball (12/14/11): Senior forward Lyndsey Clark is doing it all for the Tigers in the early going of the 2011-12 season, leading Wittenberg in scoring four times, rebounds five times, assists four times and steals three times through the first seven games. Through Dec. 14, the Tigers had posted records of 3-4 overall and 1-1 in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) as Clark had contributed 11.3 points and a team-best 7.4 rebounds per contest. Clark also leads in steals with eight and has a sparkling 25-10 assist-turnover ratio, which ranks second in the NCAC.
	AJ Burt Men's Swimming and Diving (12/14/11): Freshman AJ Burt is among several newcomers who have made a significant impact upon the Tiger men's swimming & diving team. Burt has been a consistent winner through the first half of the 2011-12 season, including a trio of three-win performances in dual meets as the Tigers posted a 5-2 record through Dec. 14. Burt capped the first half of his inaugural collegiate campaign by scoring the most points on the team at the DePauw Invitational Dec. 2-3. He placed third in the 100-yard breaststroke and 1650-yard freestyle and first in the 400-yard Individual Medley in a school-record time of 4:12.76. He also was a member of two third-place relays in the meet.
	Mary Pfeifer Women's Cross Country (12/14/11): Senior Mary Pfeifer finished her collegiate career in style, earning a berth in the NCAA Division III National Championship meet for a third straight year. She finished 68th at the 2011 meet, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh on Nov. 19, one spot behind her top career finish in 2009 but in a time of 22:05, her best time in a national championship. Pfeifer finished her career with four All-North Coast Athletic Conference awards in cross country, three All-Great Lakes Region finishes and with the distinction of becoming just the second Wittenberg runner to reach the national meet three times in a collegiate career. In addition, Pfeifer holds three school records in track & field — the 3,000 and 5,000 meters indoor and the 10,000 meters outdoor.
	Josh McKee Football (11/10/11): Senior wide receiver Josh McKee heads into his final collegiate football game with his name scattered throughout the Wittenberg, North Coast Athletic Conference and NCAA Division III record books. During the 2011 season, McKee broke the school record for career receptions after breaking the marks career receiving yards and touchdowns late in a record-breaking 2010 season. He also broke the NCAC marks for career receiving touchdowns and receiving yards, and he enters the season finale tied for the top spot in career receptions. He also holds the season records in all three categories in Tiger program history. He is also moving up the NCAA Division III top-25 lists for receiving touchdowns and yards.
	Katie Sumner Volleyball (11/10/11): Senior middle hitter Katie Sumner has been named 2011 North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Year after leading the Tigers to another phenomenal season. Wittenberg won the NCAC regular season and tournament titles, dropping just one set in 18 matches. The Tigers head into the NCAA Division III Tournament ranked No. 5 nationally and No. 2 in the Great Lakes Region. Sumner led Wittenberg with 86 blocks (0.97 per set) and to go along with 190 kills (third on the team), 20 service aces (fourth on the team) and 61 digs. Her attack percentage is a team-best .349 (minimum of 200 attack attempts) and she is on pace to finish in the top in school history for career attack percentage.
	Spencer Hogue Men's Soccer (11/10/11): Senior defender Spencer Hogue put together a stellar final season in the Red & White, contributing four goals and one assist. His goal against Thiel on Sept. 3 was a game-winner, and he scored both of the team's goals in the season finale against Wooster. Hogue's four goals and nine total points both ranked second on the team, which finished with records of 6-11-1 overall and 2-7-0 in the NCAC in 2011.
	Jane Tsivitse Women's Swimming & Diving (11/10/11): Junior Jane Tsivitse has gotten off to quite a start to the 2011-12 swimming and diving season, and not coincidentally, so has her team. The Tigers head into a Nov. 12 meet at Transylvania sporting a 3-0 dual meet record after beating North Coast Athletic Conference foes Wooster, Ohio Wesleyan and DePauw. Tsivitse started her season with a pair of individual victories and the anchor leg on the winning 200-yard freestyle relay against Ohio Wesleyan. She added a first and a second individually in the win over Wooster before helping her team to a thrilling six-point win over DePauw. After winning the 500-yard and 100-yard freestyle events, Tsivitse anchored the 200-yard freestyle relay to a half-second margin of victory. A loss in the final relay would have tipped the final score in DePauw's favor.
	Taylor Goss Women's Soccer (10/13/11): Senior forward Taylor Goss has been a steady performer for the Tiger women's soccer team over the last four years, and she continues to provide important leadership to a team that is in the hunt for a berth in the four-team North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament. Goss has started all 13 games (through Oct. 8), as the Tigers have posted records of 7-5-1 overall and 2-1 in the league. She has scored two goals on the season, including the game-winner in a 3-0 decision at Hiram on Oct. 8.
	Elizabeth Dwyer Field Hockey (10/13/11): Senior forward Elizabeth Dwyer is one of the senior leaders who have picked up a young Tiger field hockey team and carried them back into the hunt for a berth in the four-team North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament. Dwyer leads the Tigers with 15 goals and 34 total points, and she has triggered 79 of the team's 98 penalty corner opportunities. Her goal and point totals rank second in the NCAC (through Oct. 8). Wittenberg has bounced back from a slow start in which the Tigers didn't score a goal in regulation the first three games to improve to 7-7 overall and 6-5 in the NCAC.
	Mike Lambeck Men's Soccer (10/13/11): Senior goalkeeper Mike Lambeck has picked up right where he left off in 2010, when he earned first-team All-North Coast Athletic Conference honors. He ranks second in the NCAC in saves with 55 through the first 13 games of the 2011 season. He has two shutouts, a goals against average of 1.74 and a saves percentage of .724 for the Tigers, who stand 5-7-1 overall and 1-3 in the NCAC (through Oct. 8).
	Craig Osterbrock Men's Golf (10/13/11): Junior Craig Osterbrock led the Tiger men's golf team into five tournaments during the fall 2011 season, and he placed in the top five in three of them, finishing with a 75.2 stroke average overall. The Tigers won the Denison Fall Classic, the Guy W. Kuhn Invitational at Allegheny and the Rosencrans Maurer Invitational, hosted by Wittenberg, where Osterbrock ran away with the title, carding a three-under-par two-day total of 139. His round of 68 on Day 2 was the third-best round in program history. The Tigers finished the fall season ranked No. 18 nationally.
	Kailey Striebel Women's Soccer (9/15/11): Junior midfielder Kailey Striebel has led the Tigers to a 3-1 record since a tough start to the season at second-ranked Messiah. Through Sept. 15, Striebel leads the Tigers by a wide margin in goals (5), assists (2) and total points (12), totals that put her amongst the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) leaders as well. After netting the overtime game-winner against #9 Illinois Wesleyan on Sept. 11, Striebel is tied for the NCAC lead in both goals and total points. She is on pace to top her 2010 totals of nine goals and seven assists, which also led the team and earned her first-team All-NCAC and first-team All-Great Lakes Region honors.
	Jordan Millice Men's Golf (9/15/11): Senior Jordan Millice kicked off his final collegiate season in the best way possible, claiming medalist honors at the Denison Fall Invitational by one stroke and leading the Tigers to a record-setting performance and 18-stroke victory. Millice posted rounds of three-under-par 68 and one-over-par 72 to finish at 140, four strokes better than his previous collegiate best score. He led a Tiger team that simply blistered the famed Granville Golf Club course, eclipsing school records for best single round (283) and best two-round score (567). The previous 36-hole record team score was 585. Millice was a first-team All-NCAC honoree a year ago, and he has earned the NCAA's Elite 88 Award for Division III men's golf each of the last two years, signifying the best grade point average among players in a championship competition.
	Christina Gilene Volleyball (9/15/11): Junior libero Christina Gilene has picked up her game in 2011, and the third-ranked Tigers have been rolling as a result. She was named the first-ever D3VB.org Player of the Week on Sept. 6 after helping the Tigers to a 3-0 performance at the Wittenberg National Invitational, including wins over then-#2 Emory and then-#6 Juniata. Gilene, a 2010 Honorable Mention All-Great Lakes Region selection, picked up 66 digs over the weekend for an average of six per set to surpass the 1,000-dig mark for her career. She was one of two Tigers named to the All-Tournament Team. For an encore, Gilene and the Tigers added three more wins at a tournament hosted by Mount St. Joseph Sept. 9-10, a good primer for big matches scheduled in the Great Lakes Regional Challenge, hosted by Wittenberg, Sept. 16-17.
	Ben Zoeller Football (9/15/11): In his first season as a starter in 2010, senior quarterback Ben Zoeller put together the finest statistical passing season in Wittenberg football history. He posted three of the top six passing performances in Wittenberg history and broke the school record with 2,997 passing yards. Zoeller, the 2010 NCAC Offensive Player of the Year, entered the 2011 season already ranked in the top 10 in school history for career passing yards. Through the first two games in 2011, Zoeller has been even better statistically. He broke the school record for passing yards in a game with 456 and total offensive yards in a game with 460 in the opener against Capital. Through Sept. 15, Zoeller ranks sixth in Wittenberg history with 3,892 career passing yards. He was named NCAC Offensive Player of the Week after the Week 1 performance, and he ranks second nationally in passing yards and total offensive yards.
