Wittenberg Continues March Through NCAC With Win At Wooster

WOOSTER, Ohio - The finish line is within sight. The Wittenberg Tigers continued their march toward a third straight North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) regular season title with a typically dominating 3-0 win at Wooster.

The Tigers improved to 23-2 overall and 11-0 in the NCAC with the win over the second-place Scots. Wittenberg is now just five wins shy of completing its third straight 16-0 conference regular season finish.

The set scores of 25-14, 25-22, 25-18 tell the story. Wittenberg has not dropped a set in NCAC action this year and has lost just one set since the end of the 2006 season against conference opponents, including a pair of 3-0 victories in the 2007 NCAC Tournament.

Offensively, senior right-side hitter Jackie Williams (Rocky River, Ohio/Magnificat) did her thing, as usual, finishing with 16 kills. The junior setting tandem of Erin Slattery (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Kenston) and Kendall Obreza (Gainesville, Fla./Oak Hall) were solid as well, finishing with 24 and 14 assists respectively.

Defensively, senior libero Laura Fender (Toledo, Ohio/St. Ursula) led the way with 20 digs, while junior middle hitter Kate Snead (Westerville, Ohio/South) added three total blocks.
