Women's Indoor Track and Field places ninth at Wittenberg Invitational

SPRINGFIELD — The Wittenberg women's indoor track and field team tied for ninth place of 12 teams in its Wittenberg Invitational home meet on Saturday.

The Basics

  • Venue: The Steemer - Springfield, Ohio
  • Wittenberg tied Manchester for ninth place in the standings with 10.5 points.
  • Ohio Northern won the team title with 59 points, Wright State was second with 47 points and Centre was third with 40 points.
  • The top six finishers in each event earned points via a 7-5-4-3-2-1 model.

Wittenberg's Top Performers

  • Junior Reese Neumeyer (Whitehouse, Ohio/Anthony Wayne) ran 9.45 seconds to place third in the 60-meter hurdles. Freshman Haley Troy (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West) was seventh in the race in 9.85 seconds.
  • Junior Meghan Frazier (Alliance, Ohio/Alliance) added an eighth-place finish in the 60-meter dash in 7.86 seconds.
  • Sophomore Aidan Orth (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson) was sixth in the weight throw with a mark of 13.86 meters. Orth earned another sixth-place finish in the shot put with a throw of 11.82 meters.
  • Freshman G'Niyah Brown (Dayton, Ohio/Wayne) was sixth in the long jump with a mark of 5.32 meters. Freshman Jenna Delp (Canton, Ohio/GlenOak) finished eighth with a jump of 5.04 meters.
  • Sophomore Tiffany Hix (Prospect, Ohio/Elgin) was fifth in the pole vault with a mark of 3.20 meters.
  • Freshman Hallie Haines (Hillsboro, Ohio/Fairfield) tied for fifth in the high jump with a height of 1.39 meters.
