Women's Track & Field Claims First NCAC Outdoor Track & Field Crown

Delaware, OH – The Wittenberg Tiger Women's Track and Field Team secured their North Coast Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships title, with 216 points across the two-day meet. The outdoor title caps off the triple crown chase for the Wittenberg women, after capturing the 2022 NCAC Cross Country Championships, following up the historic performance from the fall with an NCAC Indoor Championship before adding their third NCAC team title of the season this spring.

The Wittenberg women brought home three of the four major awards at the end of the two-day event. The Wittenberg coaching staff led by head coach Paris Hilliard and accompanied by assistant coaches Brandon Litz, Jessi Juarez, Josh Lynch, and Alexia Page-Boyd, helping push Wittenberg to eight first-place finishes and 29 top-five finishes throughout the weekend. Earning the 2023 Coaching Staff of the Year award, adds to the Wittenberg staff's mantel that has collected Coaching Staff of the Year accolades during the 2022 cross country season and 2022-23 indoor track and field season.

Women's Sprint/Hurdles Athlete of the Year : Meghan Frazier

Frazier earned two key wins that helped push the Tigers to a championship in 2023, earning her this year's Women's Sprint/Hurdles Athlete of the Year honors. Frazier won the 100-meter, posting a time of 12.10. Frazier followed up that win with a win in the 200-meter 25.02. She also ran the anchor leg of the 4x100-meter relay, which Wittenberg won by more than a second, and ran the second leg of the 4x400-meter run, which the Tigers also won.

Women's Distance/Middle Distance Athlete of the Year: Sydney Khosla

Khosla earned 2023 Women's Distance/Middle Distance Athlete of the Year honors after earning a victory for the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a time of 10:39.31, which set a new NCAC Championship meet record. She also finished second in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:40.75. Khosla is also the 2023 Distance Athlete of the Year for Indoor.

Newcomer of the Year: Tymeerah De'Armond

Tymeerah De'Armond (Springfield, OH/Springfield) earned the Newcomer of the Year award. De'Armond won the 400-meter dash with a time of 57.46, earning her first All-NCAC honor. She had a top-five finish in the women's 200-meter dash as well, which Wittenberg dominated earning all four top spots. De'Armond also ran the final leg of the 4x400-meter relay, which the Tigers earned the NCAC title for in a time of 3:58.14.
