Birmingham, AL – Two Wittenberg Tiger Track and Field athletes competed at the 2023 NCAA Division III Indoor Championships over the weekend.

Julissa Williams secured a 15th place finish in the women's high jump competition. Williams cleared the bar at 1.56 meters, converting to a height of 5 feet 1.25 inches. Williams is just the sixth different Tiger to qualifiy for the indoor championships. This is the first time Wittenberg has made the trip back to the national meet since sending four athletes to the 2020 national event which was unfortunately cancelled before getting started, due to the Covid pandemic.

Zeke Bennett earned his way into the national competition in the men's 400-meter dash, running his fastest time at the Boston University Invitational with a time of 48.00. Bennett posted a 19th place finish, crossing the line at the championship meet in a time of 49.00. Bennett is the first Tiger to earn a trip to the final meet of the indoor season since 2015. That 2015 indoor season, the Tigers had two top 10 finishers, as Victor Banjo earned a sixth-place finish in the 60-meter dash and Aaron Melsop earned a seventh-place finish in the long jump.

Leading the Wittenberg Track and Field program, Head Coach Paris Hilliard was named the Great Lakes Region Women's Indoor Track & Field Coach of the Year for the second time in his career.
