Tigers Impress at Mt. Union Toy Drive Invite

ALLIANCE, Ohio—Wittenberg track and field opened up their indoor season with a strong start at the Mt. Union Toy Drive Invite. Wittenberg not only matched many personal bests on Saturday, but a school record was also broken in the indoor season opener.

Gabrielle Draginoff shattered the school's pole vault record at 10' 9", as the freshman from Cincinnati Ohio competed in her first college event.  

The 4x400 relay team of Tyra Barnes, Makaila Barbel, Katelyn McCohn and Tiarra Avant also took home a first place finish for the Tigers, turning in a finals heat of 4:16.40.

In the women's 800 meters, the Tigers controlled the podium as senior Frankie Bowsher finished first at 2:38.27, Kelsey Fobean in second at 2:38.97 and Staci Harmon at 2:45.40.

In the 400 meters, the Tigers were lead by Alaina Longshore who finished in second place with a finals time of 1:00.83.

On the men's side, Wittenberg was lead by Cody Shutt who finished second in the 400 meters at 51.06.

In the high jump, Drew Campbell scored for the Tigers, finishing in fourth clearing 1.86 meters.
