Women's Track and Field Finishes 1st at Fighting Scots Invitational

WOOSTER, Ohio—Wittenberg's women's track and field program finished first place on Saturday at the Fighting Scots Invitational at College of Wooster. The Tigers totaled 110 total points as a team on their way to their first place finish, while individually; Wittenberg had three total first place finishes on the day and one team first place finish.

WOMEN'S TOP FINISHES

  • Brea Medlock (Galena, Ohio/Big Walnut) finished first in the 60 meter-dash with a time of 7.88 seconds as well as a first place finish in the 200 meter-dash with a time of 26.52 seconds. Medlock was also a part of the first place team finish in the 4x400 meter relay, along with her teammates Alaina Longshore (Columbus, Ohio/Franklin Heights), Frankie Bowsher (Gahanna, Ohio/Lincoln) and Tiarra Avant (Delaware, Ohio/Hayes).
  • Bowsher followed up her team first place finish with an individual first place finals performance in the 400 meter-dash, with a time of 1:03.71.
  • Jordan Crow (North Las Vegas, Nevada/Palo Verde) finished first in the 60 meter-hurdles in back-to-back meets, this time with a finals time of 9.37 seconds.
  • Longshore finished second behind Bowsher in the 400 meter-dash by mere milliseconds, with a finals time of 1:03.89.
  • The team of Medlock, Avant, Longshore, and Odunayo Shobo (Columbus, Ohio/Westland) finished second in the 4x200 meter-relay, outpacing the competition with a time of 1:47.53.
  • Sara Richards (Columbus, Ohio/Gahanna Lincoln) kept the Tigers going with a third place finish of her own in the 400 meter-dash, at 1:04.01.
  • In the long jump, Becah Delp (York, Pennsylvania/Eastern York) finished third with a finals jump of 4.92 meters.
  • Odunayo kept her impressive day going in the 60-meter dash, finishing fourth, after running a finals time of 8.49 seconds.
  • Delp also continued her strong day, earning a fourth place finish in the 60-meter hurdles at 10.10 seconds.
  • In the long jump, Wittenberg had a fourth place finish in Crow, who jumped 4.80 meters.
  • Sydney Granito (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) also took home a fourth place finish in the weight throw, with a throw of 10.72 meters.
  • In the 60 meter-dash, the Tigers found another top finish, when Avant ran a time of 8.53 seconds, good enough for fifth place.
  • Capping off her meet, Crow finished fifth in the 400-meter dash at 1:04.73.
  • Freshaman Paige Narciso (Worthington, Ohio/Thomas Worthington) joined in on the scoring, running a time of 2:40.03 in the 800 meter run, finishing fifth in the finals.
  • Stephanie Atkinson (Lebanon, Ohio/Lebanon) also produced a fifth place finish for Wittenberg, this time in the mile run, with a time of 6:01.67.
  • The 5000 meter run also found another Tiger in the top-six range, when Lorin Conti (Milford, Ohio/Milford) ran a time of 19:51.17.
  • Delp continued her great meet with a fifth place high-jump finish, after clearing 1.55 meters, and a fifth place shot-put finish with a throw of 9.62 meters.
  • Kelsey Fobean (Monroe Falls, Ohio/Stow-Monroe) earned the Tigers points in the 800 meter run, running a time of 2:41.48 in the finals.
  • The 3000 meter run garnished a sixth place finish for yet another Tiger, Sarah Webb (Twinsburg, Ohio/Twinsburg), at 12:20.43.

  • The Tigers are back in action February 6 at Ohio Northern University to take part in the Joe Banks Invitational.
