GRANVILLE, Ohio – The Wittenberg track and field teams participated in the Denison Lid-Lifter on Saturday, and the men brought home a fourth-place finish and two new records, while the women finished third and saw a number of solid performances.

The highlight of the men's meet was undoubtedly the pair of records set by senior Victor Banjo (Sugarland, Texas/Stephen F. Austin). Denison's Mitchell Fieldhouse had not seen the 60-meter dash in so low a time as Banjo turned in, a 6.91 second performance to win the event. And the Wittenberg program has never seen a Tiger complete the 200-meter dash quite like Banjo, who ran it in 22.42 to set a new school standard.

Banjo also helped the 4x200-meter relay team of sophomore Justin Fisher (Fort Wayne, Ind./Carroll), senior Chris Frierson (Dallas, Texas/DeSoto) and sophomore Aaron Melsop (Westerville, Ohio/DeSales) take first place with a time of 1:32.40. Sophomore Laike Wallace (Washington Court House, Ohio/Washington) chipped in with a win in the 60-meter hurdles on a time of 8.68 seconds and a second-place finish in the 400-meter dash.

Melsop rounded out the top finishes for the men by winning the long jump with a distance of 6.58 meters.

Leading the women was junior Shelby Kaho (Sugar Grove, Ohio/Berne Union), who placed second in two events.

Kaho earned second-place in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.18, while the Tigers swept the top four spots of the 400-meter dash. The responsible quartet included sophomore event winner Brea Medlock (Galena, Ohio/Big Walnut) with a time of 1:02.98, freshman Alaina Longshore (Columbus, Ohio/Franklin Heights) in second, freshman Frankie Bowsher (Gahanna, Ohio/Lincoln) in third and junior Jeanette Klamfoth (Bexley, Ohio/Bexley) in fourth.

Kaho went on to add a second-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles on a time of 9.23, while Medlock, Bowsher, Longshore and freshman Aliyah Myers (McCordsville, Ind./Mt. Vernon) claimed second place in the 4x200-meter relay. Bowsher, Longshore, Medlock and sophomore Jordan Crow (North Las Vegas, Nev./Palo Verde) teamed up to win the 4x400-meter relay.

The Tigers continue the indoor schedule at the Fighting Scots Invitational hosted by the College of Wooster on Saturday, Feb. 1.
