News Release: Wittenberg Women's Tennis Places Third In NCAC Championship TournamentApril 28, 2006SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — By the slimmest of margins, the Wittenberg women's tennis team captured third place in the 2006 North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament. On Friday, the fourth-seeded Tigers narrowly escaped fifth-seeded Oberlin, 5-4, thanks to a pair of tiebreaker victories from senior Kristyn Russell in singles and doubles. After a loss to eventual champion Denison, the Tigers came back on Saturday to claim another 5-4 win, this time against third-seeded Ohio Wesleyan, with sophomore Amanda Williams playing the key role with a come-from-behind three-set singles victory.
