Tigers Claim Top Spot in Wooster

Wooster, OH- The Wittenberg Tiger women's golf team competed in the Eva Shorb Weiskopf Invitational and came away with a first place finish and three golfers finished in the top 10 individually. 

As a team, the Tigers performed well both days, finishing with a first round 317 (+29) and carding a second round 331 (+43) to finish with a total of 648 (+72) for the tournament, to take first by one stroke. 

The Tigers had three golfers finish in the top ten in the tournament as well. Ellen Frame finished tied for third, carding a first round 78 (+6) and second round 80 (+8) for a score of 158 (+14) overall. Hillary Humbaugh tied for fifth on the tournament with a total of 159, (+15) shooting a first round 79 (+7) and second round 80 (+8). In tenth was Izzy Selby who had a first round 80 (+8) and second round 82 (+10) to finish with an 18-over-par 162. 

Halley McNair finished in the top twenty as well, at eighteenth. She carded a first round 80 (+8) abd second round 89 (+17) to finish with a 169 (+25). 

Rounding out the field for the Tigers was Anna Longbrake, who finished 37th out of more than 50 competitors, shooting a 101 in the first round and improving to a 98 in her second round to finish with a 199.  

 Next Up-The Tigers will travel to Willoughby, OH to compete in the JCU Fall Invitational on Saturday, October 7th and Sunday the 8th.
